Meet the Doctors at First Smiles Dental
Dr. Keta Radich, DMD
Dr. Michaella “Keta” Radich grew up in Neenah, WI and attended Marquette University, majoring in Biomedical Sciences and French. She graduated early to travel through 33 countries in Europe and the Middle East to satiate her wanderlust. Dr. Keta completed dental school at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA and graduated with clinical honors. She gained her pediatric specialty training at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin where she worked with a spectrum of medically complex, special needs and behaviorally challenging patients. Coming from a brute of a family, Dr. Keta has a natural ease with children and wants every child to feel safe, empowered, and loved when they come to the dentist. This country girl enjoys laughing with family and friends, running, writing postcards, exploring the city, and baking sweets.
Dr. Megan Davenport, DDS
Dr. Davenport is a board-certified pediatric dentist. She grew up in South Bend, Indiana and attended the University of Notre Dame where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology. She then graduated with high distinction for Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. After working for two years at a community health clinic in central Wisconsin as a general dentist, Dr. Davenport completed pediatric specialty training in Milwaukee at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
Dr. Davenport takes pride in providing exceptional dental care to children in a compassionate, gentle way. It is her priority to help children feel safe and at ease while at the dentist so that they can have a positive and fun dental experience.
In her spare time, Dr. Davenport enjoys baking, college football (Go Irish!), traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Dr. Leila Younger, DDS
Dr. Younger is a board-certified pediatric dentist with more than 20 years of experience. After earning her undergraduate degree in Biology and her dental degree from the University of Illinois, she completed her clinical training at Children’s Memorial Hospital. Dr. Younger also has her Master’s degree in pediatric dentistry from Northwestern University.
Dr. Younger serves on the board of directors for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
When she’s not treating patients at Smiles for Kids, she can be found teaching at the University of Southern California and visiting her two children who reside in Los Angeles. Dr. Younger also enjoys hiking and biking with her husband as well as traveling for medical mission trips to provide dental care in underserved areas.
Dr. Gerry Aylward, Orthodontist
Dr. Gerry Aylward grew up in Dublin, Ireland and received his dental degree in 1975. Following graduation, he completed a general practice residency and moved to London where he was in general practice for two and a half years. During this time he was awarded a full scholarship to study orthodontics at Northwestern University. Upon completion of his orthodontic residency, he taught part-time in both the orthodontic and pediatric dentistry departments and received his MS in 1984. Since then he has been practicing orthodontics exclusively in the Chicago suburbs. He also has a M.Div. and an MA in Spirituality from Loyola University Chicago. Dr. Aylward and his wife Linda, an attorney, live in North Barrington. Their daughter, Brynna, is a senior copywriter for an advertising agency in Chicago. Gerry is also a musician with a passion for jazz and plays several instruments. Currently, he is a band member at Holy Family Catholic Church in Iverness and regularly leads worship on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
Dr. Jessica Mattern
Dr. Mattern is a board-certified pediatric dentist. She was raised in Phoenix, Arizona and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona, receiving a bachelor of science in Physiology. She received her D.D.S. from Creighton School of Dentistry and went on to complete her pediatric specialty training at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. After completing her training Dr. Mattern was happy to call Chicago home as she has many family members in the Chicago area.
Dr. Mattern is committed to providing her patients with the highest quality of dental care. She strives to make every visit enjoyable and loves to see her patients smile.
Dr. Mattern enjoys teaching and is on staff at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry serving as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. In her free time, Dr. Mattern enjoys gardening, biking and running. She also has a passion for volunteering and has worked with many organizations including coaching for Special Olympics and participating in Medical/Dental outreach programs through Latin World Ministries.
