MEET THE DOCTORS
Dr. Megan Davenport, DDS
Dr. Davenport is a board-certified pediatric dentist. She grew up in South Bend, Indiana and attended the University of Notre Dame where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology. She then graduated with high distinction for Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. After working for two years at a community health clinic in central Wisconsin as a general dentist, Dr. Davenport completed pediatric specialty training in Milwaukee at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
Dr. Davenport takes pride in providing exceptional dental care to children in a compassionate, gentle way. It is her priority to help children feel safe and at ease while at the dentist so that they can have a positive and fun dental experience.
In her spare time, Dr. Davenport enjoys baking, college football (Go Irish!), traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Dr. Leila Younger, DDS
Dr. Younger is a board-certified pediatric dentist with more than 20 years of experience. After earning her undergraduate degree in Biology and her dental degree from the University of Illinois, she completed her clinical training at Children’s Memorial Hospital. Dr. Younger also has her Master’s degree in pediatric dentistry from Northwestern University.
Dr. Younger serves on the board of directors for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
When she’s not treating patients at Smiles for Kids, she can be found teaching at the University of Southern California and visiting her two children who reside in Los Angeles. Dr. Younger also enjoys hiking and biking with her husband as well as traveling for medical mission trips to provide dental care in underserved areas.
Dr. Ariadna Torres-Gorena
Dr. Ariadna Torres-Gorena earned her dental degree in Bolivia, her home country. After moving to the United States, she completed her Master’s degree and certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from Indiana University in 2008. She also completed a post-graduate fellowship in Craniofacial and Surgical Orthodontics at Indiana University and Riley Hospital for Children.
After graduation, Dr. Torres-Gorena accepted a teaching position at the Indiana University Orthodontic Program. In 2011, Dr. Torres-Gorena became board certified with the American Board of Orthodontics, as a demonstration of her own pursuit of continued proficiency and excellence.
In 2013, Dr. Torres-Gorena relocated to Crystal Lake to continue her passion for patient care in orthodontics. Along with her husband and daughter, they have decided to call Crystal Lake home.
When not at work, Dr. Torres-Gorena loves being with her family and exploring her new home area. She loves to go camping, watching a good movie, or taking a long walk downtown. She also enjoys reading a good book, cooking new recipes, and knitting.
