Meet the Doctors at First Smiles Dental
Samer Mosoof, DMD
Dr. Samer Mosoof joins our practice as a general dentist and comes with a strong background treating the comprehensive dental needs of children and adults. Dr. Samer Mosoof received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Dentistry. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and Chicago Dental Society. Dr. Samer Mosoof is committed to providing quality dental care to members of her community. In her free time Dr. Samer Mosoof enjoys spending time with her daughter, watching crime shows, going shopping, and meeting new people.
Dr. Darryn Weinstein
Dr. Darryn Weinstein is thrilled to be joining the First Smiles Dental family. A dental graduate of the University of Iowa, he completed his residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and went on to spend several years with Chicago’s Infant Welfare Society, providing dental services to children from Chicago’s low-income community. While providing patient care in private practice in Chicago, he returned to UIC in the role of Director of Clinics. During his time at UIC, he also completed his Master’s of Business Administration and Master’s of Public Health. In 2009 he joined Midwestern University as part of the team creating the new College of Dental Medicine – Illinois, where he served as the Assistant Dean for Clinical Education. In 2015, Dr. Weinstein became Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry, with which he is still affiliated as a part-time faculty member.
Dr. Ariadna Torres-Gorena
Dr. Ariadna Torres-Gorena earned her dental degree in Bolivia, her home country. After moving to the United States, she completed her Master’s degree and certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from Indiana University in 2008. She also completed a post-graduate fellowship in Craniofacial and Surgical Orthodontics at Indiana University and Riley Hospital for Children.
After graduation, Dr. Torres-Gorena accepted a teaching position at the Indiana University Orthodontic Program. In 2011, Dr. Torres-Gorena became board certified with the American Board of Orthodontics, as a demonstration of her own pursuit of continued proficiency and excellence.
In 2013, Dr. Torres-Gorena relocated to Crystal Lake to continue her passion for patient care in orthodontics. Along with her husband and daughter, they have decided to call Crystal Lake home.
When not at work, Dr. Torres-Gorena loves being with her family and exploring her new home area. She loves to go camping, watching a good movie, or taking a long walk downtown. She also enjoys reading a good book, cooking new recipes, and knitting.
